How To Remove Back Hair

There are several ways that men can remove back hair. Some of these hair removal options may be performed at home with little to no help. Other treatment options must be performed either by a trained technician or a doctor. Here we will look at some of these options individually.

Shaving your back

These specialized straight razors can have blades that are up to an inch and a half wide with hinged handles a foot long. Back shavers allow men to shave the back and shoulders in the shower.

Cream hair removers

The second option is to use cream hair removers or depilatories. These creams contain chemical compounds that attack the hair proteins. The chemicals completely dissolve the proteins and cause the individual hairs to loosen and fall out. This process can be completed in the shower or in a salon. The cream depilatory must remain on the skin for about 5 minutes. The hair is then rubbed away.

Back waxing

The third option involves waxing the back. Waxing no longer involves the sticky and messy waxes with a honey base. Instead, a creamy soy based wax “lotion” is applied to the skin. This new generation of wax only sticks to the hairs. Then strips of cloth are pressed into the wax mixture. Once the wax has dried the cloth is then ripped away from the skin and takes the hair with it. Waxing can be terribly painful. It is advisable to try a small area first before covering the entire back area in wax.

Laser back hair removal

The fourth method is laser back hair removal. This involves laser light energy that penetrates through the hair shaft. A laser will actually kill the hair root, though it does not kill the hair follicle. This means that the follicle is still alive and can produce another hair. Up to eight treatments will be needed for complete hair removal, but the results will last for one to two years.

Electrolysis to remove back hair

The final answer to how to remove back hair is electrolysis. Electrolysis is the only FDA approved Permanent hair removal procedure. This option utilizes ultra slim electrodes that resemble needles. These electrodes penetrate the shaft of each individual hair and kill the hair follicle. Once the cell is dead no hair can grow there again. Electrolysis can be painful. The procedure has been described as stinging, burning and pinching pain.
